Beyond The End

Opened my eyes

into the tunnel

of darkness

A streak of light

came from behind

makes me wanna turn around

but the heart says

sshhh, it's just an illusion

I follow the darkness

against the wall

against the light

no voices, no sound

Bewildered, doubtful

Quiet, so quiet

Can't even hear myself

I reach the other side

Opened the door

People all around

a different light it seems

Children playing, people walking

I smile, I shout out loud

and looking at them, I say

"hello"

I get no response

Children don't listen to me

People don't turn around to say "hi"

I try again, and shout "hey"

Cat caught my tongue!

I see all

but stand there unseen

I listen all

but stand there unheard

when suddenly

a known face from a corner

looks at me and smiles cunningly

I shake with fear

Jaws dropped, he keeps smiling, at me

and looks behind my back

I finally decide

& turn around

only to realize that

I had arrived

from beyond the end ..
